This original engraving was made in London in 1834, edited by Sir Joseph Paxton (1803–1865), who collaborated with the engraver Frederick William and the lithographer S. Holden to complete this series of works. Paxton was an English gardener, architect, engineer, and Member of Parliament, best known for designing the Crystal Palace and for cultivating the Cavendish banana, the most consumed banana in the Western world.
