This original woodblock engraving was made in Italy in 1963. It's one of the illustrations that Salvador Dalí created for Dante's The Divine Comedy. From the 1950s to the early 1960s, Dalí devoted over a decade to this series of 101 artworks. In collaboration with renowned printmakers Raymond Jacquet and Jean Taricco, they meticulously engraved over 3,500 woodblocks over three years. Each print was completed by layering nearly 35 woodcut blocks on RIVES paper. A limited edition was released in 1963.
